Lost in the Pines | Earle & Maddie's Colorado Couples Session

Somewhere between the trees and the water, the rest of the world seemed to disappear.

There is something about the Colorado mountains that makes everything feel a little more romantic. The towering pines, the stillness of the water, the way the landscape seems to stretch on forever. It's the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile.

Earle and Madie's session in Roosevelt National Forest was exactly that.

A Love Story Among the Pines

There's a certain kind of beauty that comes from letting a session unfold naturally.

No need for perfectly rehearsed poses or trying to make every moment look like something out of a magazine. Just two people, a beautiful stretch of Colorado wilderness, and the opportunity to create something that feels like them. For this session, the forest and lakeside scenery became part of the story. The contrast between the expansive landscape and the intimacy of a couple together is something I'll never get tired of photographing. There's something cinematic about being surrounded by a place so much bigger than yourself.

Romantic, Editorial Couples Photography in Colorado

My favorite photographs tend to live somewhere between candid and intentional.

I love the movement, the imperfect little moments, and the photographs that feel like they were taken without anyone noticing. But I also love creating an image that feels like a still from a film.

That's the balance I bring into my couples and engagement photography.

Earle and Maddie's forest session was an opportunity to embrace both. A little romance, a little adventure, and a landscape that deserved to be part of the photographs rather than simply the background.

The Beauty of Getting Lost Together

Colorado has no shortage of beautiful places to take photographs, but there's something especially timeless about the forests and lakes tucked into the mountains. You don't need an elaborate setting to create something meaningful. Sometimes all it takes is a quiet place, the person you love, and a little room to simply exist together.

That's what I want my couples to experience.

Not just beautiful photographs at the end of a session, but an afternoon that feels like a memory worth keeping. And years from now, I hope these images take Earle and Madie right back to this little corner of Colorado.

To the trees. The water. The feeling of being somewhere outside of time.
